18. What type of fish will we catch?
It depends on what time of the year you plan your trip. In the spring May - June Coho salmon will make up a
large part of the catch. Since the Coho are looking for warm water, they will be close to shore. Fishing
close to shore will also have us in the same water that Brown trout like to hang out in. Then in June - August
the Kings and Rainbows show up. They like to hang out in the 150 - 200 feet of water range. So we leave the
Brown trout, but now were in Laker land. Then some where around August, the kings start to stage for there
spawnning run up river. This is the time of year when lots of big kings are stacked up right out in front
of the harbor. After the kings have made there run into the river, Brown trout and Lake trout fishing takes
off. Browns will school up looking for warm water, while the Lake Trout are moving up on to the reefs to spawn. |
